This 1978 Gibson ES-345 is a late-’70s semi-hollow with a lively acoustic character and a clear, focused electric response. The laminated maple body and center block design help keep the low end controlled while maintaining a warm midrange and articulate top end. This example has been converted away from its original Varitone wiring, resulting in a more straightforward control layout. It shows signs of use and ongoing maintenance, including replacement tuners, a refret, replacement nut and strap buttons, and updated knobs. The bridge pickup cover has been removed and reinstalled, and there is evidence of a previously mounted tailpiece. Solder joints have been touched up as needed over time. Cosmetically, the guitar falls into player-grade condition with visible finish checking and general wear throughout, along with a worn-in neck with a surface level finish crack that reflects years of use. It remains a solid, functional ES-345 with practical updates and a direct updates.
Includes 90s Gibson USA hard shell case.
