For diehard fans of Joe Pass and Pat Metheny, one workhorse guitar stands out: the Gibson ES-175 with a PAF humbucker. The PAF's warm tones, especially in the neck position, create an ideal jazz sound. Financially, hand-carved archtops with intricate binding and inlay have always commanded premium prices, raising concerns about wear and tear for musicians regularly gigging in jazz clubs. The ES-175 remains the most affordable PAF-equipped guitar model on the market, making factory-original examples like this rare (not having been scavenged for parts). Overall, this example is in very good condition, showing light signs of wear typical for a guitar of its age. Notably, the original pickup ring has a small crack, and while replacement Kluson tuners are installed, the originals are included in the case. The guitar delivers a beautiful tone whether played acoustically or plugged in and is setup with low action.

OHSC included.
