Gibson Chet Atkins CE Nylon 1989, Alpine White

The Chet Atkins CE is one of Gibson’s more interesting departures from the traditional acoustic guitar, built to give players a nylon-string instrument that could comfortably work at stage volume. This 1989 example has the classic Alpine White finish, with a chambered body, Spruce top, Mahogany neck, and Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The under-saddle pickup and onboard electronics make it easy to plug in, while the solid-body construction helps keep feedback under control. It’s a distinctly ’80s Gibson design, and the Chet Atkins connection and practical approach give it a lot of charm.
