This 1954 Gibson CF-100E in is a left-handed example of a rarely seen model, combining a flat-top acoustic body with a factory-installed pickup, and finished in all gold. The spruce top and mahogany back and sides offer a dry, direct response with a clear midrange, while the electric component adds a distinct, focused signal. It has undergone a handful of repairs and updates over time, including replacement tuners, a reglued bridge, and two reglued back braces. Two larger cracks on the back have been repaired, and there is electrical tape present on portions of the wiring. Cosmetically, it remains relatively clean for its age, with finish checking throughout and some chipping above the bridge, along with visible signs of the repaired cracks.
Left-handed examples of the CF-100E are seldom encountered, and this one carries a notably uncommon configuration within an already limited model run.
Includes vintage brown hard shell case.
