This 2016 Giacomel J-5 is a carved archtop built by Italian luthier Corrado Giacomel, whose instruments have been favored by many discerning players. It features a AAAA carved Italian spruce top paired with a highly flamed carved maple back and sides, finished with walnut binding throughout. The guitar has been fitted with an ebony tailpiece and pickguard, along with a floating humbucker, while the original walnut bridge and pickguard are included in the case. Additional upgrades include mandolin-style Waverly tuners.
It remains in near mint condition and retains its original purchase receipt from Gruhn Guitars. Currently strung with Argentine Gypsy strings, it has been used in a Gypsy jazz context and produces a focused, articulate response with notable headroom and projection.
Includes custom Hoffee hard shell case.
