This guitar is one of the original 1991 prototype variations developed for the James Burton Signature Telecaster and was built by Fred Stuart. The guitar features a solid alder body finished in black with a custom red paisley design. It has a one-piece maple-cap neck with a nut width just over 1 5/8", a 25 1/2" scale length, and a medium-to-thick profile measuring approximately .87" at the nut and .93" at the 12th fret. The maple-cap fingerboard carries 21 original medium jumbo frets and black dot inlays. Hardware includes a mix of three Fender tuners and three banjo tuners (high E, A, and low E). Electronics consist of a Fred Stuart single-coil Tele pickup in the neck position and a Fred Stuart “George Fullerton” Magnacoil in the bridge. It is also equipped with an RMC piezo system in the bridge for acoustic-style tones, a Parsons/White B and G string bender system, and Roland-compatible synth output. Original hardshell case included.
