This late 1963 Fender Stratocaster, the neck date is December 1963, checks all the boxes for tone, collectability, and playability. As far as collectability goes, the guitar is for the most part all original. The switch has been changed to a 5-way and the guitar has had a refret with a new nut. It's also had a slight change to the wiring so the lower tone control now controls the bridge pickup, instead of the middle pickup. So, it's had all the good work already done, now it's just up to someone to play it. And does this thing ever play. It has a killer feeling neck that's pretty spot on for a '63 Fender neck. '63 Fenders have the largest necks of the '60s guitars made in Fullerton. The neck on this guitar is on the large side with very little in the way of shoulders, so it's really comfortable to play. The new frets and the setup on the guitar make it play like the proverbial hot knife through butter. Sonically, all three pickups definitely do the Strat dance like reference examples; tone for days here. The guitar comes in its original brown Tolex hardshell case.
