The Hammerhead is a great-sounding hand-wired amp with a unique control layout. Instead of traditional Bass and Treble knobs, it uses “Impact” and “Grip” selector switches, which cycle through different capacitor values to shape the low and high frequencies, along with the overall gain response. It also features a master volume, making it easy to dial in gain at more reasonable output levels. The power section runs on a pair of cathode-biased EL34s, yielding a more manageable 28 watts instead of the typical 50 watts associated with fixed-bias designs.
This example is in very good condition, showing only minor signs of previous wear, along with some very slight tolex separation on the top.
