This 2020 Boucher SG-51BV pairs a spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides, combining the quick response of a spruce top design with the depth and overtone content that rosewood brings to a large flattop. Finished in Sunburst, it carries a distinctive look that sets it apart from the more common natural examples while highlighting the guitar’s clean lines and refined detailing. Boucher’s approach draws inspiration from the great North American steel-string tradition, but the company has established its own identity through careful material selection and contemporary craftsmanship.
The mahogany neck features an ebony fingerboard, a comfortable C profile. The guitar offers a spacious layout that complements its responsive nature. Gotoh tuners and ebony appointments round out the build. This example remains very clean overall, showing only light signs of wear.
