The Bay State K1 Parlor from 1894 offers the unmistakable charm of a well-aged North Eastern build, with a voice that feels intimate and articulate. Though it’s seen some thoughtful updates—a refinished body, non-original fingerboard and frets, plus a replacement bridge, nut, and saddle—it remains structurally solid and tonally expressive. The spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides speak clearly, with the kind of dry, focused response you’d expect from a 19th-century parlor.
