This 2001 Bashkin JM is a thoughtful, well-built orchestra model with some serious vintage soul hiding under the hood. The cedar top and figured Madagascar rosewood back give it a rich, open voice with low-end presence that leans surprisingly close to a well-aged Martin—warm, deep, and full without ever getting muddy. It features a unique X-braced back for added responsiveness, and the compound radius fingerboard makes for an easy, intuitive feel all the way up the neck. It’s in excellent condition and feels like it’s just settling into its prime. Big sound, smart design, and just enough of its own thing to keep it interesting.
