These early Bad Cat amps, with legendary builder Mark Sampson at the helm, are often regarded as a natural extension of the Matchless lineage. With the same incredible quality of parts and wiring, Bad Cat amps offer a slightly different flavor, leaning more toward a gainier, more saturated sound than typical Matchless models.
Among the original Bad Cat designs, the Cub is a 15W amp, with the “R” denoting the addition of reverb. It offers excellent versatility through its tone controls, paired with a master volume to manage overall output. This example is in great condition, showing only minor signs of previous wear.
