Description

Typically known for their bass combos, Ampeg’s Portaflex series also ventured into guitar territory with the B-12-XT. While most examples are found in a 2x12 configuration, this rare 4x12 version exists as a titanic wall of graceful sound. Many would agree that Ampeg produced some of the most underrated guitar amps of the late ’60s, and this one is no exception. It has everything you could need, with two channels, reverb on both, and a deep, wobbly pitch vibrato on Channel 1.

The end result is an overt piece of amplification that works just as successfully for bass as it does for guitar! Internally, it has remained practically all original, aside from a replaced power cord. On the front panel, the Channel 1 Accordion input has an “X” sticker indicating that it is faulty.
