Description
This 2014 Gibson Les Paul 'Skinnerburst' is part of a limited Custom Shop run based on the well-known '59 Les Paul owned by Joe Bonamassa, often referred to as “Principal Skinner.” The original instrument was carefully studied and measured by Gibson’s Custom Shop team to recreate its specific carve, finish, and wear patterns in detail. This example is finished in a faded burst inspired by that guitar, with aged appointments and period-style construction throughout.
Numbered #84 of 150, it represents one of the limited VOS examples produced as part of this release. The guitar follows the late-1950s Les Paul formula with a carved maple top, mahogany body, and custom Bonamassa humbuckers voiced after original PAF designs. The aging work captures the look of a well-used instrument, with subtle checking and wear across the finish.
