This is a fascinating vintage-era Stratocaster assembled from a genuine mix of late-'60s and early-'70s Fender parts rather than a single, documented all-original guitar — and that history is worth knowing before you buy. The pickguard carries a 1969 date on the back with correct white MOTS construction for the era, the pickups are wired with period-correct green and orange wire, and both the body and neck bear the peace sign stamps typically found on '67–'68 Fender parts, all pointing to genuine late-'60s Fender components; the neck's "2)2APR68B" stamp is worth a closer look, though, since the "2" shows two different sizes and a font that doesn't quite match typical Fender stamping. Along the way it's picked up some real work: the neck has been refinished and relic'd with an oversprayed headstock, it's been refretted with a new nut, the pots date to 1988, the knobs, switch tip, and pickup covers are non-stock, and the body was repainted over an original Olympic White finish, dings and all still visible underneath. For a player or vintage-parts enthusiast who wants authentic late-'60s Fender DNA and real road-worn character without paying all-original, single-year prices, this is a compelling, honestly-represented piece of Fender history.
