This 1960 Vox Mando Guitar in Sunburst looks like it time-traveled straight out of a British catalog, checking and all. It’s entirely original, right down to the hardware and electronics, with two broken pickguard corners and a few nicks that don’t seem too concerned with being fixed. The short scale and eight-string layout make for a chimey, mandolin-meets-guitar sound that’s as quirky as it is cool. Despite its age and oddball status, it plays and sounds surprisingly great—clearly built with more intention than novelty. A fun little piece of electric history, comes with the OHSC.
