The VamPower brand was produced in the late 60s and early 70s by UK manufacturer Triumph Electronics. It’s believed that only around 200-250 of these amps were ever made, making them an ultra-rare collector’s piece. They are best known for their association with Marc Bolan of T. Rex—and once you play one, you can really hear the distinction! A standout feature of these amps is the “Bite” control, which pushes the preamp and delivers a very midrange-forward sound, almost like it has a vintage Big Muff pedal built in.
The rest of the layout includes standard volume and tone stack controls, a separate bass channel, and a master volume knob.
This amp is in good electronic condition, with the output transformer replaced by a modern unit—though it still retains the vintage punch they’re known for. The electrolytic caps have been changed, along with a couple of power resistors. Otherwise, the preamp remains original, including all the stock Mustard caps.
