"Taking its heritage from the Viennese tradition of making, this guitar has been designed to meet the needs of today's most demanding guitarists. Using aged European spruce...with its distinctive looks and iconic head design, these guitars create an extraordinary sound world."
British luthier and musician Gary Southwell calls himself a "copyist and restorer of historical guitars", but with his A Series nylon strings, he proves that he's an innovative builder in his own right. Frequently utilizing native European woods on his guitars, this guitar sports an aged European spruce top, walnut back and sides, and ancient bog oak in place of ebony on the fretboard, bridge, and bindings. An ultra-thin matte/satin finish all around gives this guitar a wonderfully organic tactile feel, in addition to not inhibiting its resonance and vibration. The cantilevered maple neck, though wide, is comfortably carved and easy to play. Overall, this guitar is extremely light and effortless to play, with a warm, mellow sound that's focused and clear.
This 2021 guitar is in excellent condition, with no issues to note.
