The distinction between 000s and OMs can be confusing, but Santa Cruz has clearly defined their 000 by giving it the traditional 12-fret configuration, and this one comes further beefed up with a deeper body. 12-fretters are already known for their bassier tone, and with that added depth this one is even darker and richer. But thanks to mahogany's focus and clarity, it doesn't get muddy—it just stays nice and gutsy.
A timeless songwriting companion, vocal accompanist and fingerstyle favorite, this one has some beautiful premium tonewoods: bearclaw German spruce and figured beeswing mahogany. This pre-owned 2008 model is in excellent condition, though it's worth noting it has what look like tiny bubbles in the finish scattered behind the strings and along the lower bout in the same line (though they don't appear to be causing issues).
