If you're not already a fan of Kevin Ryan's work, this 2019 NAMM special is the one to convert you. It starts with his popular and versatile Nightingale Grand Soloist model. The scale length may be long at 25.7", and the lower bout a wide 16", but Kevin's ergonomic considerations keep their tonal advantages while giving the player comfort and ease. A major part of the Ryan magic is in his "Innovation Suite", which includes features like laser cut bracing, the acoustic honeycomb, and flutes along the ergonomic bevel. For tonewoods, he pairs master-grade Engelmann spruce with African bubinga, which has rosewood-like tonal characteristics and an intricate figuring. From low to high, each note blooms out with a rounded, even clarity. And then it rings (and rings, and rings). The sustain is truly out of this world!
Does it need anything more? Not at all. But to complement that tonal beauty, lauded artist Larry Robinson added a detailed delicate flower inlay on the fretboard. This guitar is in excellent condition, and comes with a Calton case.
