This Recording King Nick Lucas model from 1932 may have its fair share of dings, scuffs, and repairs, but boy, does it sound fantastic! The deep-body on a 12-fret 00 adds some big bass without getting muddy, a perfect accent to the woody mid-range and clarity vintage mahogany guitars like this are known for. Flat or finger-picked, it plays and responds great, with a bit of bite when drawn out, and a nice balance across the registers.
It is bellying slightly, and repairs and modifications include: neck reset, refret, replaced bridge, added bridge plate, three previously repaired top cracks, replaced nut and saddle, previous trapeze tailpiece, and a repaired back crack.
