The National 1160 was produced in limited quantities in the late 1940s, and is essentially a Gibson LG-3 body matched with a neck featuring the National headstock minus the truss rod. This acoustic is from the first year of production which was the only year these guitars had set necks from the Gibson factory.
This model has had a number of modifications, starting with its back taken off and top rebraced to X Brace. Its been refretted, the back and sides refinished, the bridge plate replaced, and a back crack has been cleated. It still sounds as lively as ever, and is a joy to play.
Includes chipboard case.
