Obviously the aesthetics are there with the sparkle red lacquered modern art body silhouette and pronounced headstock shape. But it's the pickups that really lend itself to the surf rock tone. There's good reason these guitars turned heads during there unveil. This particular 1966 example is about as true to form as they come.
