This Martin 000-18 was purchased by Navy-man Edwin Chloe Williams in 1940s wartime, and has been well-preserved in the many decades since. The body shows modest wear for an instrument of this age with light evidence of player wear, notable buckle rash and checking throughout. The neck has been refinished and the headstock has been oversprayed, seemingly to repair some damage where previously installed tuners were removed. Additionally it has been re-fretted and the neck has been reset, both done to provide excellent playability. Williams' name is inscribed inside the guitar on the back strip, a reminder of its story, still being written.
Includes original hard shell case with Williams' named painted on.
