Michael Gurian was a trailblazer in the realm of small-scale, high-quality guitar craftsmanship, paving the way for today's boutique guitar makers. After crafting a few guitars for himself, he established his shop in New York City in the mid-1960s. Eventually, he ceased guitar production, making his instruments rare finds today.
This particular guitar boasts an Indian rosewood back and sides, a spruce top, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fretboard. It also features an LR Baggs pickup for added versatility. The neck has a nicely rounded profile, offering a comfortable playing experience. Cosmetically, it shows moderate signs of wear, including some nicks and buckle rash. Despite this, the guitar plays wonderfully with perfect action, delivering a warm, responsive, and balanced tone.
