The Guild D-40 is a songwriter's friend. The warm Rosewood body with Spruce top work to generate an ideal sound that projects and paints a picture of warmth for both the player and the audience. This guitar has the model on the inside sticker which reads "D40NT" indicating that it is a natural top, however the accompanied paperwork with matching serial show D40SB. This tells us this guitar was put through as a natural top and was picked or custom ordered to have a sunburst top near the end of production. Since it came off the line this guitar has some small areas of finish reaction, it had a bridge reglue that is not high level workmanship but is very sturdy, the truss rod cover is an engraved replacement and the nut is a bone replacement.
