Modifications/RepairsSmall touch-up on back near control cavity, slight separation at neck heel (stable), original tremolo arm in case

Famed by Malcolm Young, the Gretsch Jet Firebird is an icon in rock. The double-cut design and stark red finish scream 60's speed. This 1963 model has the original Filtertron pickups and beautiful Red finish. The binding is in good condition considering the reputation of Gretsch binding, and the guitar still has its unique and original Burns tremolo. There are some spots of touchup on the back close to the control cavity. A slight bit of separation at the neck heel but it is very stable. The play and feel of this guitar is fantastic. It is a resonant and articulate instrument that supports the player at any volume, although it wants to be turned all the way up. Visually stunning, the gold hardware, red finish and thumbnail fretboard inlays work together to create a guitar leagues ahead of its time. Gretsch was onto something in the 60's, and it was very good. This is a very fine example of a 1963 Gretsch 6131 Jet Firebird.

Comes with the original hard shell case
