Per luthier Michael Greenfield, his G1 model is a modern, lattice braced guitar with a focused voice. It
presents with a tight responsive bass, articulate mids, thick, clear,
ringing trebles and a broad dynamic range. The G1 is quick to respond to
even the lightest touch. It is evenly balanced from string to string
and everywhere on the fretboard, including the upper register above the
body join. The G1 will reproduce complex chords, articulating each note
in fingerstyle passages with piano-like clarity. While it is primarily a
contemporary fingerstyle guitar, it is also superb for light strumming,
acoustic jazz and even classical repertoire.
This particular G1 features master grade flamed Koa back and sides, complete with a Laskin-style arm rest in Ebony, and a lovely Moon Spruce top with a spalted beech and paua rosette. The tone is rich and full, and the set up makes for easy playing. This instrument was ordered and has been used by one of the best solo acoustic players we know, and he ordered it for primarily standard tuning, but occasionally for dropped tuning. It's great either way. Currently, it's equipped with a Seymour Duncan D-TAR pickup, and comes with a well-used Hoffee case.
