Description

This 1963 Gibson SG Standard has seen a long life and plenty of hands-on history, now finished in a 1970s refin that gives it a rich Cherry color. The factory Vibrola has been replaced with a stop tailpiece for a more direct feel, and the body shows an added veneer section near the lower bout to address to tailpiece swap. Grover pearloid tuners and late 60's replacement bridge and tailpiece hardware keep it functioning smoothly, while the original humbuckers remain at the heart of its sound, with their covers removed and reattached along the way. The neck has been leveled and refretted, making it a strong player even after decades of work. It’s a well-traveled SG with plenty of stories, ready for the next chapter.
