This Lloyd Loar–signed F-5, dated February 18, 1924, arrives as a notably clean and original example, retaining its factory Virzi and the defining appointments of the period. The carved spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, and triple-bound body and headstock show only modest signs of handling, with light wear behind the nut and aging on the tailpiece cover. Its replaced tuners and nut are its only non-original components. Since the 1940s, this mandolin's only seen modest play time which helps explain the exceptional condition of the finish and hardware. The Loar-era bridge, tailpiece cover, and tortoise-pattern pickguard remain intact, giving the instrument a cohesive and authentic presentation. Tonally, it offers an unrivaled bell-like articulate voice. Don't miss out on this remarkably well-preserved Loar F-5.
Includes white speckled Calton hard shell case.
