J45s and J50s are a songwriters best friend. It's one of the most suggested "if you can only have one guitar" models. The perfect Gibson acoustic hunt also requires consideration for neck shape, and this one is perfect. These late '64/ early '65 necks are full, without being chunky. They are rather reminiscent of the '59 shape. This example is in its original form, with only a light overspray to the top. The styrene pickguard was reglued, as most need, but it was not lost, as most were. This one has also not undergone a fixed saddle conversion, and is still with the ceramic saddle. Much of the music we have come to love was played on these guitars; James Taylor was loyal to his J50 of this vintage. All in all, this is a well aged, but true to form J-50 with a perfect neck.
Comes with TKL hardshell case and original chipboard alligator case.
