The ES-335 is one of the most iconic guitars in the last century. The body style, sound and feel of the guitar influenced how people play and listen to music. From Country Western albums to hard rock, the 335 lives on as an icon in many forms. Gibson did a fantastic job at creating a guitar with warm tones similar to some fully hollow bodied guitars but by adding a maple center block, they reduced feedback and allowed the guitar to be played at a higher volume while minimizing feedback.
This particular guitar has the small block inlays and transition logo from 1969. There is some finish wear through the back in two places and on the top of the guitar under the high e string. The Brazilian Rosewood fretboard has a decent level of play wear showing its age, but a refret gives the guitar plenty of playing power. The Vibrola Tremolo gives this 335 a swimmy character when used and nice overtones when not in use. Like all well loves guitars there is finish missing from the back of the neck, worn in a perfect pattern to reduce stick or uncomfortable when playing. Other than a refret and some plugged holes the guitar is original.
