This 1964 Gibson ES-335 is a great player-grade instrument with considerable modifications and repairs, but retaining important elements of its desirable vintage mojo. The most notable modification is a replacement headstock that has been grafted on. It is unclear if it came from another Gibson or was just crafted to look like a Gibson headstock. Schaller tuners have been installed on the new headstock. It's undergone a good refret, and a replacement tailpiece has been installed. With the electronics: one pot has been replaced, the harness has been rewired, and the bridge pickup was re-leaded. It also has replacement saddles and replacement pickup covers.
Despite these repairs, it retains its original set of Patent No. pickups, and they are super creamy and responsive. It has the desirable wide nut width as well, contributing to a super comfortable playing experience. Cosmetically it remains in good shape, with visible evidence of the headstock repair, and substantial buckle rash being the most notable wear.
Includes late 60s Gibson hard shell case.
