Gibson Custom Shop Jim McCarty Les Paul Custom 2018, Ebony

Born from Jim McCarty's own 1984 Les Paul, which was carefully measured and studied, this 2018 Gibson Custom Shop Limited Edition Made-to-Measure Les Paul Custom is a tribute to one of Detroit's great rock guitarists. McCarty's story runs from his days with Jimi Hendrix through Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels and Cactus with Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice, and that history is set right into the fingerboard with three one-off inlays: a Detroit Wheel, a Cactus and a Rocket, the last for his band The Rockets. Put together with Huber Breese Music in Fraser, Michigan, the run was planned at six and grew to just nine because of demand, and one of those nine stayed with Jim himself. Each one was hand-signed by McCarty on the back of the headstock, and this one is a perfect option for a fan or artist looking to carry the torch; A rare signed piece of Motor City rock history.
