This 2022 Gibson Custom Murphy Lab '59 Les Paul Standard brings the full Tom Murphy treatment—Sunburst finish, heavy checking, and wear that looks like it’s survived every bar gig between Memphis and Macon. The relic work runs deep enough that even the pickup rings and pickguard show the miles, which is saying something. Under all that aging, it’s in excellent condition (you know, structurally), and plays like a guitar that’s been lovingly thrashed for decades. The neck has that familiar late-’50s heft without being a baseball bat, and the humbuckers do everything you want them to—clear, punchy, and a little rude when asked.
