Part of the Limited Edition Collection, this model reflects decades of Made to Measure requests and the deep well of creativity of the artisans at the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee. Crafted with precision, care, and an unwavering respect for the original Black Beauty concept, this Les Paul Custom reimagines the 1957 classic with an unexpected twist: a Korina body and top, elegantly showcased in an Antique Natural VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

The use of Korina gives this instrument a distinctive voice and visual identity. Its grain and golden hue highlight the sculpted lines of the Les Paul body shape, while multi-ply binding on both the top and back maintains the sophisticated Custom-level aesthetic. There is no weight relief of any kind, reinforcing a solidbody construction that feels substantial and alive in the hands. The result is an instrument that blends Custom-level refinement with the organic, resonant qualities for which Korina is celebrated.
A Korina neck, carved into a 1950s Chunky D profile, delivers the feel of a vintage instrument, complete with long neck tenon construction for maximum sustain and structural integrity. The solid ebony fretboard features mother-of-pearl block inlays and single-ply binding, offering both a smooth playing surface and an unmistakably upscale look. For a final elegant touch, the headstock displays both the Gibson logo and the iconic Custom split diamond, inlaid in mother-of-pearl with impeccable craftsmanship.

This Les Paul Custom Reissue is powered by a pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 humbucker™ pickups. Known for their nuance, clarity, and refined vintage character, these pickups capture the bloom, bite, and harmonic complexity associated with late-50s Patent Applied For Gibson tone. Uncovered Double Classic White bobbins add a bold visual detail, while the traditional control layout of two volume and two tone knobs provides familiar versatility. A three-way toggle switch completes the electronics, making it easy to explore everything from articulate cleans to dynamic overdrive.

Gold hardware underscores the elegant presentation, including an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, Kluson® Waffleback® tuning machines, and a Stop Bar tailpiece. Black plastics and black Top Hat control knobs maintain the classic Custom look. Every detail has been crafted with care, resulting in a Limited Edition instrument that feels both historic and refreshingly unique.
