Developed as a collaboration between guitarists Billy Byrd and Hank Garland, Gibson launched the slim hollow body electric Byrdland in the mid-50s. In addition to being the first Thinline model, Billy and Hank requested a narrower 1-5/8" nut and extra short 23-1/2" scale, giving this guitar a unique feel and playing experience! Whether you're small-handed or just want to be able to pull off some unusual chord voicings, this guitar opens up some interesting possibilities. The guitar has an older refret and that's it for modifications.
Other than the refret, this guitar is in excellent, all original condition (save for a new nut) with just a few finish dings on the top and light play wear. The pickup covers have been off, but the originals are intact. Comes with its original hardshell case.
