Gibson Barney Kessel Regular 1964, Sunburst

The Barney Kessel Regular was Gibson’s take on a full-sized jazz archtop, with a double-cutaway hollowbody, Spruce top, Maple back and sides, and the ornate appointments associated with the model. This 1964 example has a classic Sunburst finish and the comfortable 25.5" scale that gives the guitar plenty of room without feeling unwieldy. The pickups and pots have been replaced, along with the knobs, while the body shows deep checking throughout. Those changes aside, it retains the distinctive look and character of one of Gibson’s more unusual early-’60s artist models.
