Froggy Bottom offers their B12 model in a variety of configurations, some standard scale length making for a classic jumbo, but others, like this one, with a 27" scale and lower baritone tuning. Though large-bodied, it only clocks in at 16-1/2" across the lower bout and 4-1/4" deep, making it more handleable than some baritones out there. The tone, though, is everything you'd want out of a bari—huge and lush, with a growly low end, all balanced by clear articulation. With AAAA-grade Madagascar rosewood and Adirondack spruce, though, that's not surprise. Given it's a Froggy, playability, fit and finish are all fabulous, too. The signature Froggy heelcap features a wolf gazing out from a tree-lined ridge.
TNAG sold this guitar last year, and it returns to us in excellent condition, now with a -- pickup installed with controls tucked under the soundboard.
