It is not too often you come across a vintage Telecaster with a sunburst finish. While a 3-tone burst would have been the standard for a Telecaster Custom, the standard finish option for non-customs was an Olympic White or Blonde; in short, sunburst was a custom ordered option. This mostly original, sans a replacement brass nut, '68 Fender Telecaster features some of the best aesthetic characteristics of the early CBS era: chocolatey Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, minimally shrunken white celluloid pickguard, bold Fender logo under nitro finish, and a thin poly finish over ash body that has worn off in all the right places. With a comfortable C shape, standard 1.61" nut width, and coming in a lightweight 7.4 lbs, this Tele handles well. Sonically, it does "The Nashville Thing" when in the bridge position with its original pickups and wiring harness. A great opportunity to own a rare classic from an often overlooked era when some of the best music was being made on Teles. You've heard of the legendary '68 rosewood and paisley Teles, but don't sleep on the rare sunburst variant!
