The Fender Telecaster's reputation precedes it. 1955 was a banner year for country music in Nashville. It was also a great year of iconic pre-CBS specs like blonde nitro finish over ash, single ply pick guards, and maple necks; the latter of which would transition to rosewood. This is example is in player condition; but not veering far from its artistic origins. Yes, it was nitrocellulose refinished, but the tone woods remain. This example saw heavy playwear in its life and subsequently received a refret. The pickups were also replaced for Seymour Duncan Custom Shop pickups, in addition to a changed wiring harness. The bridge is replaced, but the sustain is amazing. If you are looking for a lightweight old ash body and solid vintage maple neck, this is the one for you; they are intangibles. An old tele sums up the glory days of the Nashville music scene.
Comes with modern Fender tweed case.
