This excellent Stratocaster combines two vintage halves of the model, just a year apart, to build a truly special instrument with excessive vintage mojo. The body comes from a 1965 example, with pots dating early '65 and and pickups dating to the fall. The pickups brandish the "MJ" and "LA" initials, a sought after easter egg for the Fender fanatics. Sometime in the late 70s, this body met its new mate, a 1964 neck, previously on a Sherwood Green Strat, evidenced by the dried on finish from the neck pocket. The neck itself dates to February '64.
Both pieces are in really great shape. The body has minimal wear, with minor finish dings throughout being the most notable condition issues. The neck is worn in perfectly, with the original finish in tact at the top and bottom. It is missing the screws from the back plate (back plate and tremolo arm included in case), and recently underwent a fantastic refret, but otherwise its respective parts remain original.
Includes OHSC.
