This 1964 Fender Stratocaster arrived at a moment when the electric guitar was rapidly becoming the defining instrument of a new musical era. By the mid-1960s, the Stratocaster's offset contours, synchronized tremolo, and three-pickup layout had become familiar sights on stages and television screens around the world. Finished in the final year before CBS acquired Fender, instruments from 1964 occupy a unique place in the company's history as the close of an important chapter.
This example remains in very good condition and shows the signs of a guitar that has continued to be maintained and played over the decades. It has been refretted, fitted with replacement saddles, and received a replacement volume pot to ensure continued reliability. The neck pickup has been professionally rewound, preserving its place in the instrument while returning it to proper function. Cosmetically, this Strat has plenty of water to not, especially on the back and elbow rest position.
Includes non-original vintage hard shell case.
