This 1963 Fender Stratocaster in the custom color Fiesta Red is all original. The guitar is lightweight at 7.4 pounds. It has a killer neck and it plays, even with the original frets, perfectly. One of our salesman picked it up and played a few licks on it, "This is exactly what a great Strat should be." He's not wrong. The neck's dated from the last month of '62 and the pots are from the second week of 1963. All the solder joints in the guitar are as it left Fullerton. If you're an old school guitar collector, knowing that the guitar's never been unsoldered is one of the main things to look for in a custom color Fender. The primer layer on this guitar is Desert Sand with the Fiesta Red on top. One of the reasons the red looks so good on this one is that the guitar wasn't clear coated over the red. In the early '60s Fender usually did not shoot clear over the color layer. What this means, in the long run, is that the color stays true to the way it originally looked. Later on when Fender shot clear over the color, the clear coat would yellow and influence the way the color looked on the guitar. If you're looking for a killer custom color Strat, here's your guitar. Original brown Tolex hardshell case and the original panic bar included.
