In 1959, a Jazzmaster was the most expensive guitar you could get from Fender. It's offset body design was another leap forward from the now 5 year old Stratocaster design. The fatter pickups and hotter pots brought a different sound and Fender put that at a premium. This example seems to have changed hands a decade or two after purchase and received a "hippie" refin to the body where the sunburst finish was sanded down. There was also a time where Jazzmasters were some of the more affordable Fenders on the used market. That being said, this guitar retained its original pickups, pots, and most of its hardware; the anodized gold guard being one of the rarest features. It was recently refretted and plays wonderfully. It would also make a great candidate for a custom color body refinish like gold, black or roman red. Barn find player grade golden-era Fenders are becoming rarer and rarer to find. Play it as is or take it in that body refin direction, you have a killer guitar.

Comes in circa- 1964 Fender Black Tolex HSC with broke latch and wear to the corners
