This 1954 Fender Esquire has a nice worn-in look to it. The body has been refinished, and the neck has been refretted with a new nut installed. The pots and switch have been replaced, with the original components included in the case. A neck pickup has been added and shimmed in place, with no routing or mounting holes added to the body. The original Esquire pickguard was modified with a neatly cut opening, converting it to a Tele-style guard. The neck is dated TG 9-54, placing it firmly within Fender’s mid-1954 production and indicating the maestro Tadeo Gomez was involved in its creation. Overall, this is a thoughtfully updated early Esquire that balances period-correct details with a handful of changes.
Includes original poodle case. (Damaged on the bottom).
