This limited-edition Fender Custom Shop Tomatillo Double Esquire blends early Telecaster-inspired styling with a unique electronics package and carefully selected appointments. Finished in Journeyman Relic Aged Aztec Gold, the two-piece select ash body is paired with a one-piece quartersawn maple neck carved to a comfortable 1957-style Soft "V" profile. A vintage compound radius fingerboard and narrow tall frets balance period-correct feel with modern playability.
At the heart of the guitar is a pair of Custom Shop hand-wound Tomatillo Tele pickups wired with a modified 1951 Nocaster circuit, allowing the three-way switch to access bridge, neck, and a bridge/neck blend for added tonal flexibility. A reverse Nocaster bridge fitted with RSD compensated brass saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and disc string tree round out the hardware. The lightly aged Journeyman Relic finish offers the appearance of a well-cared-for vintage instrument without excessive wear.
This guitar is new and will come with a deluxe hardshell case.
