The Esquire is a well known close cousin to the Telecaster. The single bridge pickup offers a slightly differing sound from a Telecaster because of the missing neck pickup. The Custom Esquire was a fancier offering with a double bound body. That being said, this guitar was routed for a Lollar Imperial Low Wind Humbucker which sounds excellent and the bridge pickup was swapped for an Antiquity, but has returned to the original pickup. The neck is a period correct Esquire neck, however it does not have the "Custom" notation which tells us that it is from a different standard Esquire. The pickguard and brass saddles are also replacements. It's a well playing Esquire with excellent sounding electronics. Cosmetically the guitar is in great shape barring the noted repairs. It comes with the spare Antiquity bridge pickup and the box for the Lollar Humbucker. The internal electronics are heavily modified with modern potentiometers and extended leads. This is an excellent electric ready for the stage!
Comes with a modern Fender tweed hardshell case, original esquire celluloid pickguard, original pots and switches, and Lollar Antiquity Pickup
