Essentially a Gibson J-45 with a Martin scale length, Texans provide a great, crisp sound that rivals any popular flattop of their era. Their longer scale length makes them particularly underrated for flatpicking, and they excel in open tunings. This particular 1966 example is in very good condition for its age. It has undergone several repairs to ensure its playability for years to come, including a refret, reaming of the strap button hole from a previously installed pickup system, installation of a no-jak, repair of a B-string crack near the rosette, bridge re-glued, and replacement of the saddles with ebony and tusq. Despite these changes, the guitar remains in excellent playable condition, offering a rich, warm, woody tone.
Hybrid case included.
