Japanese luthier Hiro Ebata first started crafting guitars in the 1990s, in his spare time while working as an electrical engineer. When that just wasn't enough, he apprenticed with master luthier Ervin Somogyi, around the same time as Michi Matsuda and Mario Beauregard in 2004-2005. He later returned to Japan to open his own shop, where he continues to build on what he learned from Ervin, all while crafting his own unique instruments.
This Ebata MD model shares many characteristics with the modified dreadnought design, though with a slightly different curve and feel. Beautifully saplined Amazon rosewood is used for the back and sides, bringing lush complexity and overtone richness to European spruce's warm articulation. The wide 1-13/16" nut width with a flattened oval neck profile will especially appeal to fingerstylists with a classical background. The condition is excellent, with no issues to note.
